Best described as being constructed from steel in a perforated, rectangular box section, Berthoud’s Ulys boom is now available on the Elyte mounted sprayer in widths of 18, 20, 21 and 24m.
The boom is said to be easier to stow because of the smaller dimensions of the box section, and it folds away vertically at the rear of the sprayer, giving much easier access to the sprayer hatch and the tractor cab.
The boom offers exceptional working stability thanks to the Axiale suspension system that is used to mount it to the sprayer, while it also features unprecedented flexibility in work as the boom sections can be folded-in independently, one side at a time, and the boom levelled, to allow for different working widths/configurations.
Another feature of the Ulys boom is that the spray nozzles are housed with the steel box section, providing exceptional protection from damage or fowling by crops or obstructions, while a unique cam system in the joints between the boom sections allows adjustment to be made to keep the boom true after normal working wear.
